Choosing a colour for parquet flooring/wood panelling

Below you will find a list of wood types, colours and combinations available for your interior design projects and refurbishments using Europlac's wood products: Absolu floating floor, Prestige glued parquet, Funfloor veneered flooring and Funwall wood panelling

 

Europlac offers a vast choice of flooring colours: oak parquet ranging from greys, white, brown/chocolate/beige tints plus other wood types in a range of colours. Every wood type has its own distinctive colour, as do the trees in their natural habitat. You will find below, the range of wood worked by Europlac, in alphabetical order.

 

Each type of wood is classed by colour family: black, orange, yellow or white. In this way, you will find your research easier if you already have an idea of thecolour scheme for your flooring or panelling. Follow the links and you will find that in each colour family there are deep coloured parquets such as wenge, as well as the light colours such as whitened oak.

AMARANTE

Also known as: Purple Heart, Violet Wood

Origin: Brazil

Variations: Darken slowly towards purple/grey

Note: Violet tones tend towards red and are constant.

Origin: France

Colour family: Yellow

Variations: Slightly darken

Note: The white tones are sprinkled with brown caractère veins, which characterise this wood.

Variations: Get slightly amber

Note: Uniformly pinky brown.

Colour family: White

Variations: Veers towards pink

Note: Flesh white tones with pearl reflections. Slight irregularities - can have small black knots. One of the whitest woods.

Origin: United States

Colour family: Orange

Variations: Slightly veers towards red

Note: A light brown tone with pearl reflections;undulating veins, characteristic of cherry. Veins pronounced but uniform. Ages well.

Also known as: Afzelia africana

Origin: Cameroon

Colour family: Orange

Variations: Darkens with time

Note: Brown wood, strongly veined in overlaid tones. Colour resembles corn on the cob.

Also known as: Coromandel, Marble Wood

Origin: Asia

Colour family: Black

Variations: Stable

Note: Black tones sprinkled with beige veins. A striking wood with highly contrasting marbled effect.

HORNBEAM

Variations: Tends to orange

Note: : Flesh white with goose feather veining.

Note: Orangy yellow tones. Very slender and unvaried

graining

Note: Orange with browny black veining. Very lined appearance with very pronounced and shimmering colours. A wood of great character with every vein contrasting to the one next to it

Note: Luminous brown tones veering towards green. Slender with irregular markings; dull brown rippling veins.

Variations: Becomes redder

Note: Browny orange to pinky yellow with very irregular browny black veins.

Note: Dark chocolate brown, often great contrasts in veining and colour. Very hardwearing, beautiful finish.

Origin: Gabon

Colour family: Black

Variations: Tan - a rise of white silica

Note: Browny black with a slightly uniform violet tone, very unusual. Goosefeather veining.

Colour family: Yellow

Variations: Tan veering to yellow

Note: Light yellowy brown wood with a lot of fine dark brown veining. Slender.
